About the Event

The most effective way to get a job is through networking – but for most people, it feels like one of the hardest things to do.

You’re much more likely to secure an interview by being referred through a connection. In fact, 85% of jobs were filled via networking in 2018 – and in 2017, 70% of jobs were never published online – these are huge numbers and the percentages are only growing!

In this workshop I'll help you overcome your insecurities, challenge your misconceptions and help you grow your list of contacts – so you’ll leave feeling ready to start networking.

In this workshop, you'll learn how to:

  • Approach networking with positivity and resilience
  • Uncover new ways to build connections and expand your opportunities
  • Effectively reach out to people inside and outside of your network
  • Authentically sell yourself and communicate your strengths and ambitions.

You’ll have the opportunity to practice your networking skills in small breakout groups with fellow workshop attendees. Not only will this help improve your confidence, but you can connect with them on LinkedIn afterwards!

You'll also take away:

  • A plan of action
  • A list of people to start networking with
  • Message templates to help you initiate conversations.

It can be rather isolating when you wish to change careers so it was refreshing and invigorating to speak to others who shared the same apprehensions and thought processes as myself. I feel more self-confident in applying myself and putting myself out there with the right people.
